The Lochlea Dark Briar Single Estate Single Malt Scotch Whisky is a characterful bottling from the independent Lochlea Distillery, located in the Scottish Lowlands and known for its artisanal whiskies made from barley grown on its own estate. As a single estate whisky, all the barley comes from the distillery's own fields, which gives the product a special authenticity and traceability. Bottled at an alcohol content of 46% vol., this edition presents itself with a perfectly balanced drinking strength.


The maturation took place in a combination of Oloroso Sherry Casks, Pedro Ximénez (PX) Sherry Casks, and Port Wine Casks, giving the whisky exceptional depth and a complex spectrum of aromas. While the Oloroso casks contribute nutty and spicy notes, PX casks provide sweet dried fruits, and Port Casks add fruity, berry accents. The Dark Briar was bottled un-chill filtered and without colorings, impressing in its pure, natural form. It thus represents the modern Lowland style with the clear signature of the Lochlea Distillery.
