It is made from a cuvée of the classic grape varieties Corvina, Rondinella, and Molinara, which thrive on mineral-rich soils in the hills around Verona. The unique aspect is Masi's developed Doppio Fermentazione process: after the first fermentation, a portion of dried grapes is added to the young wine, which gives it additional depth, fullness, and complexity – similar to the Amarone process, but fresher and more elegant.
