This special bottling combines several of the distillery's whisky styles into a complex triple malt whisky, marrying single malt whisky, malted rye whisky, and heather and peat-smoked single malt. This creates an exceptional Danish whisky that harmoniously blends fruity, spicy, and slightly smoky nuances. The name KAOS harks back to the famous motto "Stauning eller Kaos" (Stauning or Chaos) of Danish Prime Minister Thorvald Stauning (1873–1943), who is considered one of the founders of the modern Danish welfare state. This historical reference underlines the character of the bottling, where apparent chaos is transformed into a harmonious composition.


Stauning KAOS Triple Malt Danish Whisky is made from 100% locally grown barley and rye, traditionally floor-malted at the distillery. It is then double distilled in 24 small, directly fired copper pot stills, resulting in a particularly aromatic and complex whisky. Maturation takes place in a combination of heavily charred virgin American oak casks, first-fill Maker's Mark bourbon casks, and other liqueur wine and brandy casks, which gives the whisky additional depth and structure. This DIY Edition Batch 2 from 2023 is bottled at 46% Vol. and is non-chill filtered, thus fully preserving its natural texture and aromatic density.
