The Dellavalle Gran Liquore G. Gerbi L'Amaro del Diavolo Rosso is a traditional amaro that has been brought back to life thanks to a historic discovery. An old bottle, still containing the original, typically red liqueur, inspired the company Davide Barbero, heirs of the legendary "Diavolo Rosso," to relaunch this special amaro in collaboration with Distilleria Dellavalle. This new interpretation is a tribute to Giovanni Gerbi, born in Asti in 1885, a cyclist with an unmistakable fighting spirit and iconic red racing jersey. His nickname "Diavolo Rosso" (Red Devil) dates back to an anecdote where, dressed in his red attire, he rode into a procession during a race, prompting a startled priest to exclaim: "Chiellì a l’è al diau" (That's the devil). This sporting legacy lives on in the characterful liqueur, which combines historical roots with Italian herbal tradition.


The Amaro del Diavolo Rosso is obtained through the cold maceration and infusion of selected botanical ingredients: gentian, cardamom, yarrow, rhubarb, sweet wormwood, sweet orange peel, and sour cherry. This combination gives the herbal liqueur its aromatic depth, its bitter-sweetness, and its distinctive red color. Bottled at 25% alcohol by volume, this amaro exhibits a balanced, natural structure and is excellently suited for classic aperitifs, modern cocktail creations, or pure enjoyment.
