The Koval Wheat Single Barrel Whiskey 55% Vol. 0.5 l is an outstanding example of modern American whiskey artistry from the Koval Distillery in Chicago. This independent craft distillery was founded in 2008 and is now considered a pioneer in organically produced whiskeys. For this exceptional single barrel, only wheat is used – a grain that is rather rare in whiskey production, resulting in a particularly soft, almost creamy character.


As with all Koval brand products, the raw materials are 100% organically grown. Distillation takes place in small batches, with only the so-called "heart cut" – i.e., the purest and highest quality part of the distillate – being processed further. The water used comes from Lake Michigan and is charcoal-filtered before processing to guarantee absolute purity. The whiskey then matures for about four years in new charred oak barrels from Minnesota, which gives it a pleasant depth and spice.


Each bottling of Koval Wheat Single Barrel comes – as the name suggests – from a single barrel, giving each bottle an individual, unmistakable character. It is neither colored nor filtered, to preserve the pure, authentic taste.
