The Hatozaki Triple Cask Reserve is composed of a carefully selected blend of the finest malt whiskies and then refined in three different cask types – a complex maturation process that gives it its extraordinary depth and balance.


First, it is aged in ex-bourbon and ex-sherry casks, which give the whisky its fundamental structure, warmth, and aromatic richness. Subsequently, it undergoes a further six-month maturation in casks previously used for the noble Akashi-Tai Umeshu Plum Sake Liqueur – a rare and elaborate finishing process practiced only in Japan in this form. This finish imparts subtle fruity notes and a delicate, natural sweetness to the Hatozaki Triple Cask Reserve, perfectly harmonizing with the mild spiciness of the wood.
