The Kerschbaum Blaufränkisch 2023 originates from one of the most renowned red wine estates in Mittelburgenland, a region considered classic Blaufränkisch terroir, offering ideal conditions for this grape variety. The selected grapes underwent 14 days of maceration and fermentation, which optimally brought out structure, color intensity, and varietal typicity. Malolactic fermentation partly took place in wooden barrels, while the subsequent aging occurred in repeatedly used barriques and large oval oak barrels. This combination supports the balance between fruit-driven clarity and a subtle, well-integrated wood note. The 2023 vintage presents itself as a modern, clearly defined Blaufränkisch, authentically reflecting the strengths of the grape variety – structure, aromatics, and elegance.
