The grapes come from various vineyards around Göttelsbrunn, a place significantly shaped by calcareous Danube gravel, offering ideal conditions for structured, profound red wines. The harvest took place from mid to late September and was accompanied by multiple manual selections to process only optimally ripened grape material. This careful handling of the grapes forms the basis for precision, elegance, and expressiveness.


Fermentation took place as a 14 to 21-day spontaneous fermentation on the skins at temperatures of 30 to 32 °C, followed by malolactic fermentation, which deliberately built structure and balance. The subsequent 18-month aging in 500-liter Austrian oak barrels lends the wine depth, spice, and a clearly defined texture, without masking its origin. With 14% alcohol content, the Carnuntum DAC presents itself as powerful yet harmonious, characterized by ripeness, precision, and a long-lasting presence.
