The Salzl Cabernet Sauvignon Reserve 2021 represents a powerful, precisely vinified Cabernet Sauvignon from Burgenland and reflects the consistent quality philosophy of the Salzl winery. This Reserve bottling is made from 100% Cabernet Sauvignon and comes from sandy soils, which give the wine structure, depth, and a distinctive mineral tension. Vinification is traditional, with mash fermentation in stainless steel tanks at 30 °C and a maceration period of 14 days, followed by malolactic fermentation, which deliberately builds power and balance. With an alcohol content of 14%, the 2021 vintage shows itself to be dense, expressive, and at the same time elegant.


The 12-month aging in small oak barrels made from 100% new wood gives the wine additional depth, spice, and structure without masking the varietal character. The result is a long-lived Reserve red wine, ideally suited for aging with a recommended drinking maturity from 2025 to 2035, and possessing clear development potential. A drinking temperature of 16 to 18 °C is recommended to best showcase the structure, fruit, and wood integration.
