This Cask Strength Rum is based on sugarcane molasses and originates entirely from Mauritius, where it was allowed to mature under tropical conditions. The maturation initially took place for five years in ex-Bourbon barrels, followed by another 40 months in first-fill Bourbon barrels, which gives the bottling additional depth, structure, and intensity. This aged Mauritius Rum was bottled without reduction at 54.9% Vol., thus preserving its full cask character.
