Description
The Mezan The Unaltered Rum Guyana 2011 46% Vol. 0.7 L + GB is an authentic Demerara Rum from Guyana, impressively embodying the purist approach of the renowned Mezan The Unaltered Rum series. The Mezan Rum brand represents a limited collection of carefully selected bottlings designed to preserve the original character of Caribbean rum. All bottlings in this series are bottled without added sugar, without colorants, and without chill filtration, thus maintaining the natural style of the distillate unadulterated.
This Guyana Rum was distilled in 2011 at the Diamond Distillery and bottled in 2022, giving it an age of 11 years. It is made from molasses, while distillation is carried out in modern Savalle Four-Column Stills. Maturation takes place in two phases: initially, there is a tropical maturation of 3 years in Guyana, before the rum is stored for another 8 years in Europe. This Demerara Aged Rum is matured in selected ex-Bourbon casks, which develops a balanced interplay between cask character and distillate. As a single origin rum from Guyana, this bottling represents the traditional style of the region and showcases the characteristic depth of the well-known Demerara rums. The bottling is also limited to 5,500 bottles worldwide, making this limited Guyana Rum particularly interesting for collectors and lovers of authentic rums.
