The Erwin Sabathi Grauburgunder Ried Jägerberg Südsteiermark DAC 2024 13% Vol. 0.75 l is an elegant and expressive Pinot Gris from Südsteiermark DAC, which clearly reflects the origin of the renowned Ried Jägerberg. The Erwin Sabathi winery is one of the leading estates in the region and stands for precisely vinified Styrian Burgundy wines with pronounced regional typicity. As a Südsteiermark DAC Riedenwein, this Pinot Gris from Austria combines power, structure, and mineral elegance.


The vines grow on marine sedimentary soils of the Neogene, the so-called Gamlitz Schlier, which consists of fine sandy clay marls with crystalline and carbonate gravels. These soils lend the wine its characteristic minerality and tension. The grapes come from steep vineyards and are harvested by hand. Fermentation takes place with natural yeasts, after which the wine matures for 15 months in large oak barrels. With 13% Vol. alcohol, this Pinot Gris Südsteiermark DAC is structured, complex, and long-lived. Bottling will take place in December 2025, and the aging potential is 10 years and more.
