The wine is made by Leo Hillinger together with Alexander Waibel and South African winemaker Justin Van Wyk. Several times a year, Leo Hillinger travels to Constantia to personally oversee the wines of the Constantia HILL line. The wine is classified as a Wine of Origin (WO) Constantia according to the South African origin system.


The exceptional blend of Petit Verdot, Merlot, Malbec, and Cabernet Sauvignon gives this South African red wine depth, structure, and aromatic complexity. The grapes benefit from the moderate cool-climate, which ensures slow ripening and precise aromatics. After fermentation, the wine matures for 12 months in French barriques, creating additional structure, spice, and elegance. With 14.5% Vol. alcohol, the Constantia Hill Red 2020 presents itself as powerful, concentrated, and balanced. Thanks to its structure, this red wine from Constantia has an aging potential of about 8 to 10 years.
