Absente Absinthe 55% is a French absinthe speciality from Provence, produced by Distilleries et Domaines de Provence in Forcalquier. The recipe is based on a selection of traditional herbs and plants, including, in particular, wormwood, aniseed and mint. With an alcohol content of 55 per cent, Absente possesses a strength characteristic of this time-honoured category of spirits. Its production draws on France’s historic absinthe culture, whilst combining this with a modern brand identity. Its striking green colour and distinctive herbal blend make Absente 55 a well-known interpretation of the French absinthe style.

The history of Distilleries et Domaines de Provence is closely linked to the herbal and distilling traditions of Provence. For Absente, the selected plants are carefully processed to bring out the spirit’s characteristic herbal, aniseed and wormwood notes. The 55 per cent ABV expression is suitable both for traditional preparation with water and as an intense ingredient in classic and modern cocktails. This Absente absinthe from France is available in a 0.7-litre bottle complete with a gift box, making it an ideal present for lovers of classic herbal spirits.
