Behind the brand is the Riascos family, who, based in Barranquilla on Colombia’s Caribbean coast, draw on many years of experience with aged rums. For La Hechicera Extra Añejo, selected aged rums are blended and harmoniously combined using the Solera method. Ageing takes place in ex-bourbon casks made of American white oak, whose influence gives the rum its characteristic combination of fruit, vanilla, toasted notes and spicy wood. No added sugar or other flavour-altering additives are used, allowing the rum’s natural cask character to shine through particularly clearly.
