The Hannes Reeh Heideboden Cuvée Red 2022, 14% ABV, is a characterful Austrian red wine from Burgenland that reflects the unique climatic conditions of the Seewinkel region. For this red wine cuvée, the renowned Hannes Reeh winery in Andau blends 60 per cent Zweigelt, 20 per cent Cabernet Sauvignon and 20 per cent Merlot. The grapes thrive on gravelly soils with a sandy component, which, together with the warm, sunny climate, provide ideal conditions for the development of high-quality red wines. The careful hand-harvesting at a ripeness of 20.5 °KMW forms the basis for an expressive vintage that bears the winemaker’s distinctive signature.


The Heideboden Red 2022 is part of the wine range of the same name, which, with its white, red and sweet variants, reflects the diversity of the region. Following the harvest, spontaneous fermentation takes place with a four-week maceration period, before the wine is matured in both stainless-steel tanks and barrique barrels. This combination preserves the distinct character of the grape varieties and allows the cuvée to develop harmoniously. With an alcohol content of 14% in the generous 1.5-litre magnum bottle, this Burgenland red wine is ideal for festive occasions and special moments of indulgence. It has ageing potential until 2034, making it an interesting choice for further bottle ageing.
