This is concentrated sugarcane juice from which water is removed prior to distillation in order to concentrate the natural sugarcane flavours. This elaborate process gives the rum its characteristic depth and sets it apart from many molasses-based rums. The historic Botran Distillery matures its rums at around 2,300 metres above sea level, where the cool highland climate provides optimal conditions for slow and consistent barrel ageing. Botran Ron Añejo 12 Sistema Solera is aged for at least twelve years using the traditional Sistema Solera method in American white oak casks.
