In 1263, the chief of Clan Mackenzie saved King Alexander III from a charging stag. In recognition of this, the King granted the Mackenzie Clan the right to incorporate the emblem of the twelve-pointed royal stag into their coat of arms. When descendants of the clan acquired the Dalmore distillery in 1867, this royal stag became the symbol of Dalmore whisky, which proudly adorns every bottle today. The precious single malts are refined in exceptional casks, hand-picked by Master Distiller Richard Paterson.

The Dalmore distillery was founded in 1839 and is located on the Cromarty Firth coast in the northern Highlands. Dalmore uses water from the River Alness, which flows through the small town of the same name.

The 12-year-old Dalmore was matured in bourbon and Oloroso sherry casks. A very complex single malt with wonderfully combined aromas and excellent value for money.
