The Ardbeg Corryvreckan is an intense and powerful Islay Single Malt whisky with an impressive alcohol content of 57.1% ABV. Named after the notorious Corryvreckan whirlpool, located north of Islay between the islands of Jura and Scarba, this whisky embodies the wild and untamed nature of the Scottish islands. Its deep aromas, coupled with extreme smokiness, make it one of the most impressive whiskies from the house of Ardbeg.

The distillery's history dates back a long way: whisky was unofficially distilled here as early as 1794, before John McDougall officially founded Ardbeg in 1815. The name "Ardbeg" means "small hill" in Gaelic and refers to the geographical location of the distillery on Islay's rugged south coast, known for its heavily peated whiskies with a maritime character.

The Corryvreckan matures in a combination of French oak casks and ex-Bourbon casks, which gives it exceptional spice and complexity. It was originally developed for Ardbeg Committee members and is now a permanent part of the core range.
