The Bommerlunder Aquavit is a traditional spirit with a long history, dating back to 1895. Originally, the recipe came from the Bommerlund Kro inn, located on the German-Danish border. Since then, this aquavit has been produced using a proven method that perfectly combines the characteristic aromas of caraway, dill, and other herbs and spices. Since 2000, production has taken place in Schleswig-Holstein, while distillation occurs in Lower Saxony.

After distillation, Bommerlunder Aquavit matures for 6 months in oak barrels, giving it a special smoothness and subtle notes of wood and vanilla. Aquavit (from the Latin "aqua vitae" – water of life) is similar to gin in its production but is based on caraway and dill instead of juniper. This creates its distinctive, spicy, and fresh character.
