Ouzo is produced by distilling pure alcohol with aniseed and various herbs such as fennel, coriander and mastic, which give it its distinctive flavour.

Ouzo 12 owes its name to a particular cask: back then, customers wanted to be served from cask number 12 because it contained the finest ouzo. Today, Ouzo 12 is the best-known ouzo worldwide and a symbol of quality and tradition. Produced through double distillation, this process guarantees purity and removes unwanted substances from the ouzo, ensuring it impresses not only with its flavour but also with its digestibility. Ouzo 12 is characterised by a rich, natural flavour derived exclusively from distilled seeds such as fennel, star anise, aniseed, cardamom, cinnamon and nutmeg. More than 5 per cent of the final distillate consists of these aromatic seeds, which give the ouzo its distinctive, spicy depth.
