Description
The company founder Don Andrés Brugal Montaner left his home country Spain to seek his fortune in the Caribbean. After learning the craft of rum production in Cuba, he moved to the Dominican Republic, specifically to Puerto Plata, around 1855. In this city, Brugal rums are still aged today. After a few years, he developed his own manufacturing process there, which ensures consistent quality of the rums. This process remains a well-kept secret to this day, passed down from generation to generation.
Brugal expands its line of high-quality and exquisite products with the 1888 Ron Gran Reserva.
It is aged for at least 14 years in selected barrels, maturing for a period in oak barrels and then in sherry barrels.
