Ableforth’s Bathtub Gin is a characterful, handcrafted gin, stylistically inspired by the traditions of the American Prohibition era and produced using the cold compounding method. This production method, in which spices and botanicals are macerated directly in the base spirit, gives the gin its distinctive spiciness and aromatic depth. Whilst in the 1920s, inferior spirits were often infused in makeshift containers such as bathtubs, Ableforth’s now uses only high-quality spirit distilled in pot stills. Only 30 to 60 bottles are produced per batch, which underlines the artisanal quality and exclusivity of this bottling.

The botanicals used include juniper, coriander, cardamom, cinnamon, cloves and orange peel, which give the gin its unmistakable character. The iconic, rustic packaging design, featuring a paper sleeve and wax seal, is a deliberate homage to historic spirits bottles from the Prohibition era. Bottled at 43.3 per cent by volume, the gin is richly aromatic, spicy and yet elegant – ideal for lovers of intense, classic gin profiles.
