In 1263, the head of Clan Mackenzie saved King Alexander III from a charging stag. In recognition, the King granted the Mackenzie Clan the right to display the emblem of the twelve-pointed royal stag on their coat of arms. When descendants of the Clan took over the Dalmore Distillery in 1867, this royal stag became the symbol of Dalmore Whisky, which proudly adorns every bottle today. The precious single malts are matured in exceptional casks, hand-selected by Master Distiller Richard Paterson.

The Dalmore Distillery was founded in 1839 and is located on the Cromarty Firth coast in the northern Highlands. Dalmore uses water from the River Alness, which flows through the town of the same name.

The Dalmore Cigar Malt consists of 10-15 year old malts matured in ex-bourbon casks, American white oak casks, Matusalem Oloroso Sherry Butts, and Bodega Gonzalez Byass. Further maturation in Premier Cru Cabernet Sauvignon barrique wine casks gives this Scotch whisky its unmistakable character, which pairs excellently with a good cigar.
