The Bunnahabhain Distillery, located on the picturesque coast of the Isle of Islay, was founded in 1881 and is known for its unique, unpeated whiskies. The distillery originally relied on sea trade and experienced a turning point in 1960 with the construction of a new road, which improved logistics. After a brief closure in the 1930s and the last ship arrival in 1993, the road became the main supply route. In 2006, after being acquired by Burn Stewart Distillers, the brand profile received a modern redesign. The water for the whiskies comes from limestone springs and is piped to the distillery without peat contact, which gives the whiskies their mild, characteristic taste.

Bunnahabhain 12 Years Old is considered a true classic among Islay whiskies. Matured in a careful combination of ex-bourbon and ex-sherry casks, this Scotch develops a rich and luscious flavor profile. The typical peat notes are surprisingly subtle for an Islay Malt, which gives the whisky a special elegance.
