The recipe is based on a variety of traditional botanicals, including wormwood (Artemisia absinthium), anise, fennel, and other aromatic herbs. These are macerated using the classic method and then distilled to finely balance the complex aromatics. Characteristic is the distinctly bitter wormwood tone, combined with a spicy, slightly sweet anise note. The high alcohol content is typical for authentic absinthes and ensures that the aromas develop particularly intensely – especially when prepared classically with water.
