While the distillery is traditionally known for its rather mild, unpeated malts, the Cruach-Mhòna shows a completely different side: here, the strong peat smoke typical of Islay impressively comes into its own.


The name "Cruach-Mhòna" means "peat stack" in Gaelic – an indication of the intensely smoky character of this whisky. It is aged in ex-Bourbon casks made of American white oak, allowing it to develop a harmonious balance between smoke, vanilla, sweet malt, and maritime notes. Bottled at a robust 50% Vol., it is uncolored and non-chill-filtered, thus preserving its natural aromatic complexity. The combination of cask maturation and strong alcohol content makes it an intense yet well-balanced Islay Single Malt.
