This whisky was inspired by Alfred Barnard, one of the first whisky travel journalists, who visited Lagavulin in the 19th century and was captivated by an 8-year-old Lagavulin at the time.

Despite its comparatively short maturation period, the Lagavulin 8 Years Old impresses with extraordinary intensity and complexity. The high peat content typical of Islay malts gives it a distinctive smoky note, which is wonderfully balanced with sweet and spicy elements by eight years of maturation in American oak casks.
