Seville, the famous city in Spain, is known not only for its flamenco but also for the oranges that bear its name. For much of the year, these bright golden and orange fruits adorn the city's trees. These are Seville oranges, a special variety of bitter oranges that, due to their intense flavor, are less suitable for direct consumption.

Charles Tanqueray was inspired by these oranges. Instead of enjoying the fruits plain, he used them to refine his gin recipes. Following this original recipe, Tanqueray today ennobles its Seville variant with bitter oranges from the region.
