In the late 1990s, a group of friends had the ambitious plan to establish the first whisky distillery in Wales in over a century. Their goal was to create a whisky as pure and precious as Welsh gold. In 2004, on St. David's Day, this dream became a reality when Penderyn Whisky was born. The distillery's uniqueness is partly due to the copper still designed by Dr. David Faraday, featuring a special pot still. It is located in the village of Penderyn, at the southern end of the Brecon Beacons. The pure spring water from the region significantly contributes to the quality of the exceptional Penderyn whiskies.

Penderyn Rich Oak Single Malt Whisky is characterized by its maturation in carefully selected ex-bourbon and oak casks. While the bourbon casks impart sweet vanilla and caramel notes to the whisky, the oak casks provide spicy and woody aromas.
