Casamigos Mezcal Joven is made from 100% Espadín agaves sourced from Santiago Matatlán, Oaxaca, the mezcal capital of Mexico. After harvesting, the agave hearts (piñas) are slowly roasted in earthen pits over four to six days with wood and lava rocks to develop the characteristic smokiness. Fermentation takes up to eight days with natural yeast before the distillate is double-distilled in copper pot stills. The mezcal then rests for 30 days to harmonize its flavors. Before bottling, it is brought to a drinking strength of 40% Vol. with mountain spring water.

Particularly striking is the handcrafted black bottle, which is fired in an oven at 90 °C – making each individual bottle unique.
