The Pfanner Single Barrel First Fill Bourbon Oak Cask Single Malt Whisky is a strictly limited single-cask bottling from Austria, which showcases the artisanal whisky style of the long-established Pfanner distillery in a particularly concentrated form. The single malt was placed in the cask on 21 June 2011 and spent its entire maturation period in a first-fill bourbon oak cask. As it was a first-fill bourbon cask, the distillate was able to interact particularly intensely with the American oak and the remaining bourbon influences within the cask. On 8 September 2019, the whisky was finally bottled from Cask No. 7. It has therefore been matured for more than eight years and combines Austrian whisky-making with classic bourbon cask maturation.


A distinctive feature of the Pfanner Single Barrel Whisky Cask No. 7 is its extremely limited edition of just 392 bottles. As the whisky comes from a single cask, the individual character of this particular first-fill bourbon cask is clearly the focus. With a robust 56.4 per cent ABV, this bottling also boasts a high alcohol content and is aimed in particular at connoisseurs of intense single barrel whiskies and limited-edition Austrian bottlings. The combination of a first-fill bourbon oak cask (Cask No. 7), over eight years’ maturation and just 392 bottles bottled gives this edition a distinct collector’s appeal.
