La Réunion, an enchanting island in the Indian Ocean, is globally renowned for its expertise in producing both traditional molasses and Agricole rum. The esteemed Rivière du Mat distillery combines artisanal tradition with modern technology, employing two distillation methods: single distillation for aromatic rums and triple distillation for lighter variations.

For maturation, mainly French oak barrels are used, which previously held first-class Cognac, imbuing the rum with its extraordinary depth and complexity. This particular bottling matured for 10 years in a combination of oak and ex-Cognac barrels, thus developing a unique aroma and harmonious balance.
