Description

Bacoo 7 Years Old Rum is a matured Caribbean rum from the Dominican Republic, which impresses with its extended cask ageing and balanced sweetness. It is produced at a distillery with deep regional roots, which controls the entire production process – from sugar cane processing to bottling. The rum is based on fermented sugar cane juice, which gives it a more natural freshness and an authentic expression of the raw material. The name ‘Bacoo’ originates from Caribbean mythology and refers to a small genie – a symbolic tribute to the magic and stories of the Caribbean.

The rum is aged for at least seven years in ex-bourbon casks made from American white oak. This long ageing under tropical conditions results in a more intense aroma with notes of vanilla, toasted wood, dried fruit and delicate spices. Compared to the younger Bacoo 4 Years, this bottling offers greater depth and complexity, whilst remaining pleasantly smooth and approachable. With an alcohol content of 40% ABV and a bottle volume of 0.7 litres, this rum is aimed at connoisseurs who appreciate mature rums with a mild structure and subtle sweetness.
