The Douglas Laing Big Peat 12 Years Old is an Islay blended malt Scotch whisky, composed exclusively of single malt Scotch whiskies from the Scottish island of Islay. For this blend, the independent bottler Douglas Laing marries various Islay malts to create a characteristically maritime and peaty profile. The components include Caol Ila, which adds sweet notes; Bowmore, for balance; Ardbeg, for medicinal and earthy facets; and a proportion of Port Ellen, which lends the blend additional elegance. All the whiskies used in this edition have been matured for at least twelve years.
