The company founder Don Andrés Brugal Montaner left his home country Spain to seek his fortune in the Caribbean. After learning the craft of rum production in Cuba, he was drawn to the Dominican Republic around 1855, specifically to Puerto Plata. In this city, Brugal's rums are still aged today. After a few years, he developed his own production process there, which ensures consistent quality of the rums. This process remains a well-kept secret to this day, passed down from generation to generation.
Wonderful buttery aromas and subtle hints of caramel emerge. Light woody notes with gentle hints of chocolate rise to the nose.
