Plantation Rums have long ceased to be an insider tip. The excellent rums are primarily sourced from the Caribbean and South America, then brought to France where they receive their finishing touch. In Ars, France, the rum is subsequently aged for several months in small, discarded oak cognac casks. This type of maturation is called "Double Ageing," a technique that was already used in the 18th and 19th centuries.

Plantation Rum Multi Island XO is made from molasses and consists of blends from Cuba, Fiji, Barbados, Guyana, Jamaica, Trinidad, Panama, Haiti, Saint Lucia, Reunion Island, and Nicaragua.

The maturation takes place for several years in bourbon casks, after which it ages for further months in ex-Cognac casks made of French oak, in the cellars of Château de Bonbonnet/Cognac.

This rum receives its finish for 8 months in Vieux Pineau des Charentes blanc Casks.

Pineau des Charentes is an aperitif produced in Western France. Pineau tastes sweet, but with a certain tang of tartaric acid.
