Barbancourt Rhum Five Stars 8 Years Old, produced on the island of Haiti, is one of the rarest spirits in Germany. This rum, distilled in the Cul de Sac plain, is made from sugar cane juice which, since 1952, has come exclusively from the Domaine Barbancourt’s own plantation. After harvesting, the sugar cane juice is fermented for three days, followed by a double distillation. The first distillation takes place in continuous columns, whilst the pot still method is used for the second round.

The rum is matured in French Limousin oak casks, which can hold up to 70 hectolitres, for at least eight years. After this period, the rum is bottled as Barbancourt Five Star Reserve Special, which is characterised by its golden colour and complex aromatic profile.
