The Nagahama Distillery was founded in 2016 and is the smallest distillery in Japan. It is located on the shores of Lake Biwa, the largest lake in Japan. This is also called "Mother Lake". The volume of water in the lake moderates the climate, which is very good for the maturation of whisky.

The Amahagan Blended Whiskies take their name directly from the Nagahama Distillery, because the word "Nagahama" spelled backwards is "Amahagan".

The Amahagan World Malt Whisky Edition No.2 is the second blended whisky in this series.

The carefully selected whiskies, which are sourced from overseas, are blended with fine Nagahama Newmake and mature in the Far Eastern climate. Due to the strong temperature difference, a special kind of maturation occurs, which is why the series is called World Malts.

Production takes place in the smallest stills in Japan. Distillation is carried out in a still called "aranbic", which has an Arabic appearance. This whisky gets its finish in red wine casks.
