The Bunnahabhain Distillery, located on the picturesque coast of the Isle of Islay, was founded in 1881 and is known for its unique, unpeated whiskies. The distillery originally relied on sea trade and experienced a turning point in 1960 with the construction of a new road that improved logistics. After a brief closure in the 1930s and the last ship arrival in 1993, the road became the main supply route. In 2006, after the acquisition by Burn Stewart Distillers, the brand profile received a modern redesign. The water for the whiskies comes from calcareous springs and is routed to the distillery without peat contact, which gives the whiskies their mild, characteristic taste.

The Bunnahabhain Fèis Ìle CALVADOS CASK FINISH 1998 Islay Single Malt Scotch Whisky 2022 matures for 20 years before receiving its finish for the last two years in casks that previously contained French Calvados. It is a special edition that the distillery created exclusively for the Islay Festival.
