The mysterious Machrie Moor on the west coast of the Isle of Arran has been characterised by numerous stone circles since the Bronze Age. One of these stone circles, ‘Fingal’s Cauldron Seat’, is the subject of a legend: the legendary warrior and giant Fingal is said to have tied his dog, Brat, to this stone. For this reason, the image of Brat adorns the bottle of this special whisky.

The Machrie Moor Single Malt combines the classic fresh character of Arran Whisky with a hint of peat smoke, produced at the sister distillery, Lochranza. After ten years’ maturation in first-fill bourbon casks, the whisky is bottled without chill filtration and without colouring. With a robust peat content of 20 ppm at cask strength, this single malt retains the typical freshness of the Arran house style and complements it with subtle notes of smoke and earthiness.
