Description
Description
Amarula Marula Fruit Cream is a South African liqueur characterised by its fruity, creamy flavour. With an alcohol content of 17% vol. and a bottle size of 0.7 litres, it offers a unique tasting experience. The liqueur is made from the fruit of the mystical marula tree, also known as the elephant tree, which is found primarily in Africa. The small, oval marula fruits ripen from mid-January to mid-March, developing their distinctive flavour and rich yellow colour during this period.
The production of Amarula liqueur begins with the harvesting of the marula fruits, which are then processed using specialised machinery. The flesh is separated from the hard stones by rotating blades, and the resulting fruit pulp is pumped into chilled stainless-steel tanks. The marula pulp is fermented under conditions similar to those used in winemaking, at a temperature of 18°C to 20°C. During this process, the natural fruit sugar in the marula fruit is converted into alcohol. The clear marula wine obtained in this way is then transferred to the distillery, where the final liqueur is produced.
