Glenmorangie 12 Years Old Palo Cortado Barrel Select Release marks a premiere for the Glenmorangie brand, as it is the first whisky to be matured in the exceptionally rare Palo Cortado Sherry casks. This exquisite Highland whisky spends a total of 12 years in casks, with eight years in American white oak bourbon casks and the remaining time in Palo Cortado casks. Dr. Bill Lumsden, inspired by the smooth and gentle character of the whisky, selected a special batch of the single malt for finishing in the Palo Cortado casks. Palo Cortado, the rarest of all Sherry varieties, arises from a chance process where no protective flor yeast forms.
