The Mars Shinshu Distillery, founded in 1985 in the Japanese Alps of Nagano, is Japan's highest-altitude whiskey distillery. At 798 meters above sea level, it benefits from a cool climate and pure spring water from Mount Komagatake – ideal conditions for whiskey production. After reopening in 2011, the distillery gained international recognition and is now considered a flagship for excellent Japanese whiskey.

Mars Komagatake Austrian Exclusive Shinshu Aging Whisky is a rare limited edition of only 179 bottles, matured for approximately 4 years in first-fill bourbon casks.
