The name ‘Sljivovica’ is derived from the Croatian word ‘Slivja’ (plum) and already reveals a great deal about Croatia’s national drink. The basis of this exceptional plum brandy is the Bistrica plum, which is grown around the capital, Zagreb.

Before fermentation, the harvested plums are carefully sorted and selected. They are then crushed together with their ground stones and distilled in copper stills. The spirit is aged for around three years in oak barrels.
