In the late 1990s, a group of friends had the ambitious plan to establish the first whisky distillery in Wales in over a century. Their goal was to create a whisky as pure and precious as Welsh gold. In 2004, on St. David's Day, this dream became a reality when Penderyn Whisky was born. The distillery owes its uniqueness, among other things, to the copper pot still designed by Dr. David Faraday, featuring a special still. It is located in the village of Penderyn, at the southern end of the Brecon Beacons. The pure spring water from the region significantly contributes to the quality of the exceptional Penderyn whiskies.

Penderyn HIRAETH is the eighth bottling in the renowned "Icons of Wales" whisky collection and represents a deep connection to home. The Welsh word "Hiraeth" describes a longing for home, heritage, and essence – a feeling that resonates in every bottle of this single malt. The whisky matures in hand-selected ex-Bourbon casks, which gives it its rich aromatic diversity and depth.
