The water used to produce Woodford Reserve is sourced directly at the distillery. It undergoes natural filtration through the limestone deposits on the property. This iron-free and mineral-rich water is a crucial factor in the production process, contributing significantly to the quality and uniqueness of the bourbon.

Woodford Reserve Straight Rye Whiskey is characterized by its carefully selected mash bill, consisting of 53% rye, 33% corn, and 14% barley. This composition is typical of many traditional American whiskeys before Prohibition and gives the whiskey a perfectly balanced character.
