Description
The company founder Don Andrés Brugal Montaner left his home country Spain to seek his fortune in the Caribbean. After learning the craft of rum production in Cuba, he moved to the Dominican Republic, specifically to Puerto Plata, around 1855. The rums of the Brugal company are still aged in this city today. After a few years, he developed his own production process there, which ensures a consistent quality of the rums. This process remains a well-kept secret to this day, passed down from generation to generation.
Brugal Extra Viejo Ron is a premium rum that ages for up to eight years in hand-selected American oak barrels after distillation.
