The Octomore 14.2 is distilled from 100% Scottish mainland Concerto barley with an impressive peat content of 128.9 ppm and is part of Octomore's Heavily Peated range.

Adam Hannett, the Head Distiller, has the privilege of choosing from a variety of over 200 different cask types. For the Octomore 14.2, he made a decision that was as bold as it was masterful. He selected former Oloroso and Amarone casks from the most renowned wine-growing regions of Spain and Italy. These casks bring a nutty sweetness that forms an exciting contrast to Octomore's powerful peaty smokiness. The final marrying after a 5-year maturation took place in French oak to give this single malt depth and complexity. This whisky is bottled without the addition of coloring and without chill filtration.
