Description
The Fettercairn whisky distillery was founded in 1824 by Sir Alexander Ramsay in the Scottish Highlands. After Glenlivet, Fettercairn was the second distillery to receive an official distillation license.
After a succession of owners, the distillery was sold to United Spirits Limited in 2007.
Even today, the bottles bear the white unicorn as a crest, which was introduced by Sir Alexander Ramsay as a trademark.
The ring on the neck of the bottle and the grooves in the bottle reflect the exceptional nature of the distillation plants with external cooling.
Fettercairn 16 Years Old Highland Single Malt matured for 16 years in Bourbon casks, Oloroso and Pedro Ximénez Sherry casks. This single malt was bottled unchill-filtered and without added colorants.
